Our leadership is experienced and invested. Key members of our management team possess an average of thirty years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily within the DJ Basin.

Lynn A. Peterson

President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board

Mr. Peterson joined SRC Energy in May 2015 and currently serves as the Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer.  He was a co-founder of Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. (“Kodiak”) and served Kodiak as a director (2001-2014) and as its President, Chief Executive Officer (2002-2014) and Chairman of the Board (2011-2014), until its acquisition by Whiting Petroleum Corporation in December 2014.  Mr. Peterson served as a director of Whiting Petroleum Corporation from December 2014 to June 2015.  Mr. Peterson has been a member of the board of directors of Denbury Resources Inc. since May of 2017 and serves as Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association.  Mr. Peterson has over 30 years of industry experience.  He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

James P. Henderson

Executive Vice President Finance and Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Henderson joined SRC Energy in August 2015 and currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  He was the Chief Financial Officer of Kodiak from 2007 to 2014 until its acquisition by Whiting Petroleum Corporation in December 2014.  Mr. Henderson has over 25 years of industry experience and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Regis University.

Michael J. Eberhard, P.E.

Chief Operations Officer

Mr. Eberhard joined the Company in August 2015 and currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer.  Mr. Eberhard has served as Chief Operating Officer – Operations since June of 2016, and Vice President – Completions of SRC Energy since August 2015. Mr. Eberhard has over 35 years of industry experience focused on field development optimization. Before joining the Company, he served as Completions Manager for Anadarko Petroleum’s DJ Basin program, a position he held from July 2011 to July 2015. From 1981 to 2011 he worked for Halliburton Energy Services in various sales and technical roles, including as Regional Technical Manager from May 2004 to July 2011. Mr. Eberhard is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado. He graduated from Montana State University. He served on the Society of Petroleum Engineers Board of Directors from 2012 to 2015. He has authored or co-authored several Society of Petroleum Engineers papers and industry articles. He also holds a U.S. Patent for 3D seismic data conversion.

Nick A. Spence

Chief Development Officer

Mr. Spence joined the Company in October 2015 and currently serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer.  Mr. Spence has served as Chief Operating Officer – Development since June of 2016, and as Chief Development Officer, Vice President – Drilling of SRC Energy since October 2015. He worked for Anadarko Petroleum from January 2011 until September 2015 in a variety of roles focused on operations in the Rocky Mountain region including Completions Manager (May 2015 to September 2015), Drilling Engineering Manager (from January 2011 to November 2013 and from May 2014 to May 2015), and Engineering Manager (December 2013 to May 2014). Mr. Spence began his career with Union Pacific Resources in 1989. He held positions of increasing responsibility in both offshore and onshore technical roles as well as the development of the Austin Chalk horizontal play. In 2000 he founded Spence Oil Company, LLC, a company he sold in 2010. Mr. Spence holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.

Cathleen M. Osborn

General Counsel

Ms. Osborn joined the Company in August 2015 and currently serves as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.  Her background includes over 30 years of corporate and transactional work in the energy industry. Prior to joining the Company, Ms. Osborn served as Deputy General Counsel for Whiting Petroleum Corporation from December 2014 through August 2015, and as General Counsel for Kodiak from 2011 through December 2014. Ms. Osborn received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Denver School of Law.
