Job Summary

Assist Landmen in preparation of oil and gas contracts. Creating, processing, and monitoring of all related contracts and correspondence to files, county clerks, land administration and partners.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

  • Create, Prepare and mail proposal letters to partners on well drilling, workovers, recompletions, and lease acquisitions
  • Responsible for data entry and updates in database
  • Assist in preparation of Applications to Drill
  • Assist in title updates and curative
  • Assist in ordering Drilling and Division Order Title Opinions
  • Prepare well proposals and track status of AFE elections
  • Review and process working interest partner’s Well Elections
  • Maintain database to monitor proposals
  • Create, send, receive, and process Joint Operating Agreements (JOA)
  • Create Joint Interest Billing (JIB) Decks
  • Analyze Leases, Well Files, Title Opinions, Assignments, Surface Use Agreements, Right of Ways, etc.
  • Create, send, and process leases
  • Help Landmen to facilitate trades between SRC and other companies
  • Create Declarations of Pooling, Surface Use Agreements, Affidavits of Production, and other related land contracts
  • Process non-operative well proposals
  • Organize and distribute working interest partner’s Well Requirements
  • Prepare lease files and exhibits for sales and trades
  • Set up and maintain electronic/printed files relating to Land department functions
  • Retrieve documents as needed for reference or reporting purposes
  • Scan or photocopy documents for inclusion in files or transmittal via physical or electronic mail
  • Compose, type and revise correspondence, contracts and reports
  • Distribute and track printed or electronic documents for review and approval
  • Review final documents for accuracy and signatures
  • Prepare and compile partner agreements for wells
  • Run reports on net/gross acres
  • Responding to information requests both internally and externally
  • Check requests for new lease purchases, lease bonuses, and check associated documentation for accuracy
  • Review invoices and code to appropriate property & circulate for approvals and payment
  • Assist Land department in compiling data and assembling documents to support purchase, sale and acquisition of right-of-way surface easements and special agreements covering land rights, including prepared agreements, assignments, and due diligence research
  • Update Land systems as needed and required
  • Other related land duties as required

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience is preferred.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
  • Adequate skills in basic office software including, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • General Understanding of Oil and Gas land business and terminology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience creating maps in ArcGIS
  • Familiarity within Greater Wattenberg area preferred
